About Our Name

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from before the people.   Exodus 13:20, 21

Our name comes from the Old Testament scriptures that describe the Exodus of the Hebrews out of Egypt. As they traveled through the wilderness, God sent a cloud by day and fire by night to guide them and remind them of His presence. The people, led by Moses, were in unfamiliar territory, but God provided miraculous proof that He was leading them on a journey of His design.

Cloud and Fire Ministries is about following God each and every day on the course He has chosen. Just as the Hebrews had to adjust their lives to find God’s direction, we seek to lay down our own wills and let Him lead us through what seems like uncharted territory. We trust completely in Him, and believe that He has heard the cry of His people. We look to Him to guide us as we endeavor to provide compassion, mercy, and justice for those who are suffering.
