Pool Party

Cloud and Fire had a "Summer Splash!" celebration on June 21st to kick off the summer. Everyone enjoyed a day of swimming, food and music. Staff gave very special awards to the students for their efforts during the past year and gave appreciation awards to some of our most dedicated volunteers!

SPARK!

This art workshop featured learning all about magic tricks. The students were taught different magic tricks with ropes and other props. This was the last SPARK workshop. There will be a break for the summer and the workshops will resume again in the fall.

 


Baja Build

A group from the Cloud and Fire church and Malibu Presbyterian joined Baja Christian Ministries on a building project in Tecate, Mexico. Together, they spent two days building three homes for three families in need.

Night of Champions

On Saturday, March 28, Azusa Pacific University hosted a Christian Youth Outreach event. Our students enjoyed a skateboarding show, live music, games, obstacle courses, and an In N Out meal. Christian Athletes gave their testimony and shared about their faith. At the end of this event there was an opportunity for youth to come to the lord. Many youth received the lord that day.

Snow Day

The Sierra Club donated their time and resources to take our students up into the snow for the day. For many of them, this was their first time seeing snow. The day was spent sledding, building snowmen, and having fun!


SPARK!

This arts workshop featured learning all about photography. The students were provided with digital cameras, and took pictures around the neighborhood. A professional photographer helped them pick their strongest shot, which they put into hand-made frames.


Guys Camping Trip

Our male participants went to Wind Wolves Preserve in Bakersfield, CA to camp and hike for the weekend.


Princess Tea

Our female participants age 12 and older participated in a Valentine's Day themed Princess Tea with our staff. The ladies enjoyed an afternoon of fellowship, and discussed how to make healthy choices in dating and marriage.


SPARK!

Approximately twenty students participated in this performing arts workshop, which focused on making puppets and using them to create improvised scenes.


Back to Bethlehem

Approximately twenty students were taken to The Church at Rocky Peak for the evening. The church transformed part of their campus to look and feel exactly like Bethlehem at the time of Christ's birth. It featured reenactments of the shepherds, angels, the wise men, and the stable, as well as the roman officers and various shopkeepers. Additionally, they had food and dancing, and various animals, all of which the students were able to interact with first-hand.


Christmas Party

Once again, a very generous supporter of Cloud & Fire opened their home to 80 people, including staff, board members, donors, volunteers, and the children. The event featured dinner, singing carols, a visit from Santa, and most importantly, celebrating together.


Fall Festival

The staff and students of Cloud & Fire, along with generous help from the volunteers of The Foundry from Bel Air Presbyterian Church held a Fall Festival for the community of North Hills. It was a family event, with games, prizes, food, entertainment, and giveaways. Those in attendance could also learn about our various programs. School-age children were all given school packs, courtesy of Children's Hunger Fund.


Movie Premiere

An event put on by Lift Up America, students were invited to a movie premiere at the Mann Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA. They got to dress up, ride to the event in limousines, walk the red carpet, have their picture taken, speak with reporters, sign autographs, enjoy complimentary food, and watch the movie in the theatre.

Camping Trip to Colorado

The students of Cloud & Fire were able to experience the great outdoors, far away from their neighborhood. They camped, rafted, and hiked for a week during the summer.
